It's time for H&M to come clean and admit they have been regularly destroying unsold clothing for years as a matter of policy. Their workers have already admitted for years that unsold items from their Designer Collaborations (ie Stella Mccartney, Karl Lagerfeld) were destroyed in an attempt it make it "exclusive".
Whi...le I knew that the designer items were destroyed , I had no idea that regular H&M garments were destroyed.

Perhaps the 34th street H&M in NYC should stop burning and destroying perfectly good clothing and donate it to the homeless of New York. This way the homeless population of NYC (roughly 1/3 of the overall NYC community) could have warm clothing that is in tact this winter, instead of taking burnt and destroyed H&M clot...hing out of their dumpsters.
This has been verified, and of course H&M of 34th street had no comment.
It's really a shame. I'm a very loyal H&M customer and am very disappointed in the behavior of the 34th street employees. I hope this isn't an international practice.

Adrian Aldsworth I just checked out hm.com/csr. Maybe Im missing something but I cant find an actual statement related to this incident or an explanation of what happened? According to the NYT "H & M promised on Wednesday that it would stop the practice of destroying new, unworn clothing that it could not sell at its store in Herald S...quare" - but I cant find any mention of that here or on the website.
