As some of you may have noticed I haven't been on this site for about a month. . . wow time files! Thing is, in early April I decided that instead of looking for another job like the last one I had, I needed to make a change. That change has taken me on a completely different path and I've been consumed (in an absolutely great way) with managing my changes.

What are these changes? Well, the first is that we are in the process of purchasing our first home. The closing is scheduled for May 29th and we expect to move in sometime during the summer. We do have some work to do to make it ours, but the bones of the house are great! The whole home buying process has been so much fun for me. I love to look at homes, I love to decorate and I love to update. I'm now wondering why my career change hadn't come sooner. Anyway, the second change is I'm now a licensed real estate agent. It took me a week to complete my real estate license course required by the state of Massachusetts and two weeks after that I successfully passed the licensing exam! I am now a Sales Representative at Exit First Choice Professional, Inc. in Framingham, MA and I couldn't be more excited. The only drawback is my yarn work has had to take a backseat to all the efforts I have to put into building my own business.

Although I do plan on picking up my needles, hooks and yarn again once I'm rolling. . . I can't make any promises as to when that will be. However, if you'd like to hear how I'm doing you can visit me at my new website Sedie Sells or the new blog I'll be starting to support my real estate efforts (info coming soon). I'm thrilled to be moving in this new empowering direction and I'd love to share the opportunity with you. Please contact me if you think helping people find their new homes sounds like something you'd like to do with your days.

The flexibility I've been able to find is priceless!! The support I've found at Exit is unmatched and the perfect foundation to build a successful career upon.

May your life be a spring of new possibilities every day!

Sometime last year I saw something that stuck with me until I finished this hat. What I saw was this really stylish looking young woman wearing jeans, a nice t-shirt and a cloche hat. The hat was a totally different color than her outfit, but it was a neutral color that could have been worn with anything and look wonderful. The reason it stood out was because, I'm all about not always having to do my hair. As much as I like it when it's done, I find it tedious to do it everyday. So, I decided to make myself a cloche that would work as an alternative to doing my hair this Spring.

Here it is! My amazing crochet cloche with it's beautiful accent flower! I wear this with jeans, but I know it can be worn with a dress or a more fancy outfit. For me, I just love the look of it without the fuss!

Pattern: My own
Material: Cranberry acrylic yarn, 1-skein
Time: 4-6 hours

This was a stash-busting project for me! I think if I can do more projects like this, I'll be through my stash in record time. . . especially since most yarnies, like me, never really get through the stash!!!

I'll make another one and post the pattern here for all to enjoy soon!
We're in the process of purchasing our first home. With the financing and the interviewing of a buyers agent, and scouring listings for homes we'd like to visit, it's a long and crazy ride.

One of the things that really gets me excited is looking at the furniture listings on Etsy and dreaming of the day we'll be able to have art pieces in our home!

Here are a few of my favorites

This amazing piece of art is made by Michael Arras. I love the combined simplicity and complexity of this piece. I love the coloring and the creativity. . . ahhhhhh

This fabulous end table is created by Farzan Nemat of MSTRF on Etsy. Again, the complexity, and yet the simplicity of this piece is what drew my attention. It is very modern, which isn't usually our style, but I can see it in our country/modern style surrounded by softer items and fitting in just perfectly! Such amazing work.

Last but certainly not least, is this vintage telephone table lovingly restored and artistically presented by Alicia and Tony of Chromalab. I look at this table and think how sweet it would be to have it in our sitting room with a beautiful old fashioned phone, dating back to the same era sitting on it's top. . . .

Oh, I'm now ready to tackle the home purchase cause I've so many inspiring ideas to work on after the move!

No matter how cool the weather may get from here on out, I'm going to stick to the idea that it's Spring and time to do some cleaning! However, it's Spring cleaning in my Etsy Shop so you're the ultimate winner!

Here is a quick preview of some items currently for sale until April 15th in my shop! If you've been watching, now is the time to pounce, because once these items are gone. . . .

My 1000 Markets Shop is now open! I opened a shop earlier this week because the more exposure I get, the better for my items and for me! So far the experience on 1000 Markets has been great. It's easy to navigate, open a shop, post items and as I browse the shops I notice there are some high caliber merchants there. It's inspiring! Whenever I'm in company that helps me expand, I'm happy!

Here are just a few shops you should check out on 1000 Markets:

Those of us who have a yarn obsession tend to purchase yarn with the intention of either purchasing a pattern to complete with the yarn or with the intention of making a pattern we already have. Whatever the reason we end up purchasing yarn, most of the time, the yarn ends up in our "stash" the plastic bins, drawers, closets etc. that we use to hold our yarny good intentions.

For the next few months (I'll put an actual date on it soon) I've decided it's a good idea to decrease my stash prior to purchasing more yarn. It's proving to be a challenge, and I'll let you know how it goes as it goes, but for now, here are two projects I enjoyed making from some of the left-over yarn from other projects, because that makes up part of your stash as well!

These belts are very "bohemian" and I just love them to death. I'm planning on making one just for me to wear with my t-shirts and shorts this summer! These two are going into my Etsy shop very soon!
