Ever heard of the Path to Peace mission to support Rwanda's widowed women?
In 1994, mass genocide left Rwanda's population at 70 percent women who were left without a means to survive. In 2002, a partnership was formed with the United Nations Devlopment Fund for Women and Macy's to sell women's handwoven baskets, brace ...lets and other works of art to provide widowed women with a stable income.
You can purchase one of the baskets at Macy's! And for a short time in December, Macy's is holding events across the nation to sell the baskets in-store. You can check out the stories here on Whrrl: http://whrrl.com/search?q=path2peace&c=a ll
